Rear extension and creating spaces in a family home in Milton Keynes

Our clients needed to increase the kitchen size to create that much loved extra space we all want for when the kids get back from school, and it’s a time for a chat and a snack. When family drop in for a coffee and when guests arrive for dinner, and you haven't quite finished cooking. At the side of the house, as is the case with most ex-local authority housing, there was the concrete roofed outhouse which needed upgrading to provide a warm and dry WC, utility and storage space. A scheme we developed, which created this all new kitchen/living space and freed up the old kitchen to be repurposed as a snug study/TV room.

 

The outhouse was insulated and reroofed to create a much needed downstairs WC and utility with some much needed storage too.

 

This has given an old, outdated, and yet solid well built house a completely new lease of life. Our clients are delighted, as are we too to be instrumental in transforming a lovely family home. We must give credit to our lovely clients who were responsible for the interior design and choosing materials and fittings that so eloquently show off the architecture we designed for them.
