Listed Building Extension in Milton Keynes

Derek wanted to build an extension to a cottage, which is a listed building, in a timber frame.

Building Tectonics was commissioned to design and detail the new extension. While listed building and planning consents were already gained, we took care in adapting old technology and building methods to modern standards of construction. As we needed to achieve very precise standards of thermal insulation, we worked with a specialist company that the client engaged to further detail and construct the timber frame. We also made the new basement comply with modern standards as it was to be formed below the timber frame.
