Tony Keller formed the architectural consultancy Building Tectonics Ltd in 1985. Prior to this Tony, our chief designed, worked on large commercial projects in and around the city of London. With good organisational and communication skills coupled with the knowledge of what could be and could not be built, the projects were managed successfully to completion.
Building Tectonics moved to Milton Keynes in 1996 and in 1998 having completed the conversion of a derelict Grade 2 listed building in Fenny Stratford, we moved in. Renovating Listed Buildings takes a certain skill set that fortunately, as a practice, we have. Consequently, it was a very successful first MK base for Building Tectonics and now is a very popular commercial base for other companies.
Tectonic study of structure - Conversion of Salvation Army hall
In 2006 we moved to our current studio. It had been a Salvation Army Hall but in later years had become rather dilapidated. It was altered internally and completely refurbished to create the wonderful studio space that we now enjoy together with other companies. Tecton Centre was also designed to function as an Art Gallery and business centre and as such, its financial viability is secure, an important consideration when embarking on any commercial project.
