Once a scheme has been agreed, we can often give a client a fixed fee quote for our services, but sometimes it has to be based on the building tender sum and sometimes on an hourly basis. We much prefer the fixed fee approach, as do most clients.
We always try to make our fee quotes clear and transparent with no hidden extras. If there is any aspect that a client is unclear on or wishes confirmation, we would always ask them to talk to us to avoid any misunderstandings. One problem with having an upfront policy is that you can be seen in the first instance as more expensive. However time and time again clients benefit from our careful approach and they appear to appreciate that in the final analysis Building Tectonics offers a good value service.
We can also advise the client on any other specialist consultants required and we would normally act as team leader, managing this enhanced design team accordingly.
